Water Tank Installation Process
Installation of your water tank is one
of the most important processes, besides the purchase of your water tank of
course. The quality of the water tank installation can determine whether or not
the water tank has a long life. Correct installation of water tanks avoids the
risk of damage to support equipment (if any), and damage to the water tank
itself from the natural elements (bush fires, high winds, etc.)
Site Preparation
Here at call the plumber we take
individual installation steps that are unique to each water tank that we supply.
The majority of water tank installation jobs we carry out require a significant
amount of site preparation.
To begin with, we need to build a solid
level base for the water tank, so that it can stand the test of the elements and
any severe weather conditions, this is done by:-
·
We only use materials that
cannot be damaged by animals, water course, wind, cascading overflow, or bush
fires.
·
We then ensure the kernel of
the tank is very well supported as this is the area that has the carries the
most pressure. This is particularly necessary when the tank is filled, as the
pressure on the tank is increased.
·
We need to make sure that any
roots, branches, or sharp objects cannot pierce the water tank.
Connection
When we connect the tank, it is
important that all inlets and outlets are given flexibility. It is important
that the pipes can move slightly because when filled they tend to expand and
when empty they then decrease to the original size. Also when they are empty
tanks can move in the wind, and water tank pump equipment tends to vibrate also.
Too rigid of a connection tends to cause damage to the tank. This can vary
depending on the type of the water tank you have installed.
Testing and
Inspection
When it appears that we have completed
the water tank installation process, we then need to carry out thorough quality
checks that include system tests, connections, and any other elements that may
impede the stability of the water tank.
Some of the extensive checks we carry
out include:
·
We check all the connection
and attachments to the tank, and then we add water to it.
·
We then thoroughly check all
areas of the tank to look for drips, or problems with the alignment of the
fittings.
·
Then it’s time to look over
the support of the tank to see whether or not it is evenly supported. This
doesn’t matter if it’s on a solid base, or on a stand.
·
Final check on connections,
fittings, and locking nuts.
