Instant Hot Heater

 

There are many types of water heaters available to give you instant hot water, including Gas systems by Rheem.

 

Now you can have hot water in 25-45 seconds (depending on the size of the home and water system) without wasting a single drop and by using only a fraction of a cent's worth of electricity. Using the existing hot and cold water lines, the Metlund® Hot Water D'MAND® System rapidly displaces the ambient temperature water in the hot water line with hot water coming from the water heater. It returns this ambient temperature water through the cold water line to the water heater without letting any water run down the drain or bringing new, colder water into the house. Once hot water has reached the fixture, the sensor closes the valve and turns off the pump not allowing hot water to enter the cold water line.

 

The system is operated on demand, generally running for less than a minute each time it is activated. Because the lines do not have the flow restrictions of the fixtures, less water is drawn from the water heater and it arrives at a hotter temperature more quickly.

 

How it works: The Hot Water D'MAND System can be easily retrofitted or installed new on any home (including manufactured homes and large pleasure craft) or business, regardless of how the building is plumbed for hot water. It can be installed with any water heating system: gas, electric, propane, tank, solar or tank-less heaters. In most retrofit applications, the Hot Water D'MAND System is installed at the fixture furthest from the water heater.
